Getting Overwhelmed by Emails?

Getting Overwhelmed by Emails?

Keep Messages screen

If you’re getting overwhelmed by emails on your Blackberry device you may consider automatically deleting emails after 15 days. If you haven’t replied to a message in 15 days, chances are you probably never will. This will also help your pysche, seeing only 20 new emails is much better than looking at 500 or 1000 unread emails. Another benefit of automatically deleting emails is that you free up memory space on your handheld. Remember if there’s not enough space on your handheld, you’re not going to be receiving any emails.
Here’s how to set up automatic deletion:
Go to the message screen –> Wheel-click and “Options –> General –> Keep Messages.

How To Copy Phone Numbers To Your SIM Card

How To Copy Phone Numbers To Your SIM Card

Sim Card

A SIM card stands for Subscriber Identity Module, on most mobile phones the SIM card is the place where it holds the address book and SMS messages. The SIM card is less important on the Blackberry because the address book is stored on the built-in flash memory or it can wireless sync your Outlook address book. But their may be a time where you want to retrieve the address book off a SIM, especially when you are a new Blackberry user coming from a regular mobile phone and want to import your contacts. We have already told you how to import your whole address book, but here’s how to selectively add a contact to your SIM card:
1. On the handheld Home screen, click the Address Book icon.
2. Select the contact containing the phone number you wish to copy.
3. Click the trackwheel and select View.
4. Select the phone number, click the trackwheel, then select Copy to SIM Phone Book.
5. Click the trackwheel and select Save.
Note: If you receive the message “Not enough room in SIM,” delete the SMS messages on the Phone screen and delete the entries in the SIM Phone Book.

Prevent Bluetooth Device Discovery When Within Range

Prevent Bluetooth Device Discovery When Within Range

Bluesnarfing is the theft of information from a wireless device through a Bluetooth connection, often between phones, desktops, laptops, and PDA’s. This allows access to a calendar, contact list, emails and text messages. Bluesnarfing is much more serious in relation to Bluejacking, but both exploit others’ Bluetooth connections without their knowledge. Most devices that are set to “discoverable” may be hijacked, although we haven’t heard any reports about a Blackberry device being snarfed. This is most likely due with RIM purposely limiting the BlueTooth features of the Blackberry. To be safe, a user can prevent their Bluetooth enabled BlackBerry device from being detected when another Bluetooth searches for devices with which to pair.
To configure the Bluetooth-enabled BlackBerry device and prevent other devices from detecting it,
1. Open the Bluetooth: Enabled screen.
2. Click the trackwheel and click Options. The Bluetooth Options screen opens.
3. Click Discoverable, click Change Option, and click No.
4. Click the trackwheel and click Save.
